Project Introduction

The customer is a renowned international group with headquarters in Belgium, 4000 employees in 37 plants and 9 sales offices across 14 countries, producing raw materials and intermediate goods and offering an extensive range of finished floorcoverings.

One of its business units in needle felt solutions had established a 50/50 joint venture in China in the early years 2000. Due to some equipment import issues and misunderstandings between the parties, Horsten was asked to make an assessment of the situation, identify the corrective actions to be taken and recommend a strategy to transform the joint venture into a wholly foreign owned enterprise.

Today the customer is operating in China successfully, not only in the needle felt business, but also in fibres & yarns and technical textiles.

Involvement of Horsten International

Horsten performed an assessment of the situation, recommended a corrective action plan and assisted the customer in correcting the outstanding issues. Furthermore Horsten also helped to initiate the negotiations with the customer’s Chinese partner to transform the joint venture into a wholly owned affiliate.
