Visa-free stay in China extended to 30 days and 9 more countries included

Starting 30 November 2024, China has decided to optimize its entry policy, including exchange visits as the reason for visa-free stay, and extend the visa-free stay period from the current 15 days to 30 days.
Holders of ordinary passports from 38 visa-free countries, including the below new nine countries, can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, and transit for no more than 30 days. Those who do not meet the visa exemption requirements are still required to obtain a visa to China before entering the country.
In addition, China will extend visa-free entry to citizens from nine additional countries. Nationals from these nine countries will also be allowed to enter China without a visa.

The policy will be in effect through 31 December 2025.
