Our family’s connection with China goes back to 1979, when Joos Horsten first travelled to China on behalf of Janssen Pharmaceutica at the personal request of Dr. Paul Janssen. The foundation for our company was laid in 1996, and strengthened when Bart Horsten joined our father in 1999.
Today, both of them are no longer with us—but their dream remains alive: supporting European companies in doing business with China.
Joos Horsten (1942 – 2008)
Joos founded our family business and laid the foundations we continue to build upon today. With his passion for business and strong sense of integrity, he inspired generations within and beyond the company. His entrepreneurial mindset and human approach remains a guide for us in everything we do.
Bart Horsten (1969 – 2025)
Bart served as our Managing Director for many years and was a driving force behind Horsten International’s growth and innovation. His vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and warm personality shaped our company and team. Bart strongly believed in international cooperation and built bridges between Europe and Asia. His legacy lives on in our values and projects.
