{"id":6353,"date":"2024-11-07T15:57:55","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T14:57:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.horsten.be\/opportunities-for-european-companies-in-china-africa-relations\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T12:14:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T10:14:37","slug":"opportunities-for-european-companies-in-china-africa-relations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.horsten.be\/nl\/opportunities-for-european-companies-in-china-africa-relations\/","title":{"rendered":"Opportuniteiten voor Belgische bedrijven in China-Afrika relaties"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tijdens het driejaarlijks <strong>Forum op de China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit<\/strong>, gehouden van 4 tot en met 6 september 2024 in Beijing, kondigde de Chinese president Xi Jinping een substanti\u00eble financi\u00eble toezegging van $51 miljard aan Afrika aan in leningen, investeringen en hulp voor de komende drie jaar. Meer dan 50 Afrikaanse staatshoofden reisden naar China voor het evenement, wat de grootste delegatie ooit was voor een FOCAC-forum. Nu China zijn banden met Afrika versterkt door middel van uitgebreide infrastructuurprojecten en economische initiatieven, <strong>hebben Belgische bedrijven een unieke kans om zichzelf te positioneren binnen deze trilaterale relatie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1995 bedroeg de export van China naar Afrika slechts $1,8 miljard, een aanzienlijk lager aantal dan de $45 miljard aan export van de EU. China heeft echter de afgelopen dertig jaar zijn productiecapaciteit vergroot en exporteert veel meer naar Afrika dan het importeert. In 2023 exporteerde China $170 miljard aan goederen naar Afrika en importeerde het slechts $100 miljard. Hoewel China een breed spectrum aan goederen exporteert &#8211; vervaardigde producten, landbouw- en industri\u00eble machines, auto&#8217;s en voertuigen &#8211; naar Afrika, importeert het voornamelijk grondstoffen, zoals olie en gas, metalen en mineralen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naast <strong>30 projecten in infrastructuurconnectiviteit<\/strong> kondigde China op het Forum de lancering aan van <strong>30 groene energieprojecten in Afrika<\/strong>, met het aanbod om samen te werken aan nucleaire technologie en een energietekort aan te pakken dat de inspanningen om te industrialiseren heeft vertraagd. De top bevestigde China&#8217;s positie als \u00e9\u00e9n van Afrika&#8217;s belangrijkste ontwikkelingspartners. Deze groeiende investeringen op het Afrikaanse continent openen deuren voor buitenlandse bedrijven, waaronder die uit Europa en Belgi\u00eb, om deel te nemen aan de economische transformatie van Afrika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Opportuniteiten voor Belgische bedrijven<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De historische banden van Belgi\u00eb met Afrika zijn diepgeworteld in het koloniale verleden, met name in de Midden-Afrikaanse landen Congo, Rwanda en Burundi. Ondanks de vaak controversi\u00eble aard van het koloniale bewind, behoudt Belgi\u00eb sterke diplomatieke, economische en culturele banden met veel Afrikaanse landen. Tegenwoordig zijn deze relaties ge\u00ebvolueerd, met de nadruk op ontwikkelingshulp, zakelijke samenwerking en culturele uitwisseling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Belgische bedrijven die willen profiteren van de groeiende relatie tussen China en Afrika moeten zich focussen op de volgende belangrijkste sectoren:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Infrastructuur en bouw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Met China&#8217;s zware investeringen in de infrastructuur van Afrika via initiatieven zoals het Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), zijn er aanzienlijke kansen voor Belgische bedrijven met expertise in <strong>bouw, civiele techniek en logistiek<\/strong>. Zaken zoals wegen, bruggen, spoorwegen en havenontwikkeling sluiten goed aan bij de mogelijkheden van Belgi\u00eb. Belgische bedrijven kunnen samenwerken als aannemers of onderaannemers, met name in havens, waar de expertise van Belgi\u00eb in de haven van Antwerpen-Brugge, \u00e9\u00e9n van &#8217;s werelds grootste havens, een concurrentievoordeel vormt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Hernieuwbare energie en groene technologie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Omdat Afrikaanse landen streven naar duurzame ontwikkeling en groene energie is er een groeiende vraag naar hernieuwbare energieprojecten. Belgische bedrijven met sterke punten in <strong>zonne-, wind- en waterkrachtenergie<\/strong>, evenals <strong>energie-effici\u00ebntietechnologie\u00ebn<\/strong>, kunnen samenwerken met Chinese en Afrikaanse belanghebbenden om groene oplossingen te bieden. Expertise in <strong>afvalbeheer, waterzuivering en ecologische duurzaamheid<\/strong> is ook waardevol, vooral omdat Afrikaanse landen prioriteit geven aan milieuvriendelijke infrastructuur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. Gezondheidszorg en farmaceutische industrie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afrika staat voor grote uitdagingen op het gebied van gezondheidszorg en nu China zijn medische investeringen op het continent blijft uitbreiden, kunnen Belgische farmaceutische bedrijven en zorgverleners een belangrijke rol spelen. Belgische expertise op het gebied van <strong>biotechnologie, medische apparatuur en geneesmiddelen<\/strong> kan helpen de hiaten in de gezondheidszorg in Afrika aan te pakken, met name op het gebied van <strong>ziektepreventie, medische toeleveringsketens en de ontwikkeling van ziekenhuisinfrastructuur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4. Landbouw en agrotechnologie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Landbouw is een belangrijke economische sector voor veel Afrikaanse landen. Belgische bedrijven met geavanceerde landbouwtechnologie\u00ebn, zoals <strong>precisielandbouw, irrigatie en voedselverwerking<\/strong>, kunnen samenwerken bij Chinese projecten om de landbouwproductiviteit in Afrika te verbeteren, wat helpt om de uitdagingen op het gebied van voedselzekerheid van het continent aan te pakken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Door zich op deze sectoren te richten, kunnen Belgische bedrijven effectief profiteren van de dynamische relatie tussen China en Afrika, wat zowel economische groei als duurzame ontwikkeling stimuleert. Om zich succesvol te profileren bij projecten tussen China en Afrika moeten <strong>Belgische bedrijven zich focussen op het opbouwen van strategische partnerships met Chinese bedrijven en overheden, waarbij ze hun sterke punten op het gebied van innovatie en technologie benutten<\/strong>.
