From a Belgian perspective, since 2016 China is already the 2nd biggest export market for Belgian food companies, with growing importance.<\/p>\n<p>Many food companies are already exporting their products to China succesfully. However, it is clear that many food companies have grea<\/span><span lang=\"NL-BE\">t ambitions in China, but do not know how to deal with this complicated market and what to do first. During the three workshops\u00a0<\/span>held in Belgium from September 2018 to February 2019\u00a0<span lang=\"NL-BE\">the following topics were addre<\/span><span lang=\"NL-BE\">ssed:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>General introduction about China and the food &amp; beverages market in particular<\/li>\n<li>Entry modes to China and strategic considerations<\/li>\n<li>Legislation and intellectual properties<\/li>\n<li>Cultural aspects of doing business with China<\/li>\n<li>Identification of and negotiating with Chinese partners<\/li>\n<li>Distribution channels and logistics<\/li>\n<li>E-commerce in China<\/li>\n<li>Social media in China<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and branding in China<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Bart Horsten was one of the main\u00a0speakers, assisted by several other experts in the industry.
