Online Workshop 'Doing Business in China - Best Practices & Case Studies' - 16 September 2020

On Wednesday 16 September Bart Horsten was a keynote speaker at an online workshop, organized by ENRICH in China, focusing on the significant cultural differences between Europe and China in business communication and negotiation, as well as sharing knowledge about crucial skills for innovation management and how to conduct business in China.

European SMEs are looking at the China market as a potential export market, a source for raw materials or finished products, a possible investment opportunity, a potential technological or business partnership or any other opportunity. However, many entrepreneurs lack the necessary knowledge and resources to define the right business model, find the right partner and manage the China project successfully, especially in the first 2 to 3 years of the project.

In this ENRICH in China online workshop several typical case studies were presented to demonstrate how European SMEs managed to deal with this challenging market and build a long-term sustainable presence in China. Strategic recommendations were formulated and practical tips were given, followed by a Q&A session. The following topics were tackled: market research in China, market entry modes, partner search, legal and intellectual property issues, e-commerce and social media and marketing in China.
