20 year anniversary Horsten International
29.9.2016

On the 28th of September a celebration took place at the occasion of 20 years Horsten International, attended by more than 90 of Horsten’s clients and partners. For their years of dedication and loyal service all Chinese employees were also invited from Xi’an, the city where the Chinese office of the company is located. After a warm welcome by Bart Horsten, Koen De Leus, Chief Economist BNP Paribas Fortis, gave a presentation about Europe’s position in the relationship with China and the financial and economic status of China in a global world. The evening was closed with a festive tribute to our Chinese employees and a walking dinner.

During the event two important announcements in the further development of the company were made.

First of all, the incorporation of a Chinese joint venture of Horsten International with the Flemish ice cream producer Glacio-IJsboerke was announced for the export and sale of Glacio’s popular ice desserts and ice pralines in China. Bart Horsten: “We are very proud to work with a company from the same region with its two production sites in the province of Antwerp, Glacio has a lot of know-how and unique products which are very suitable for the fast growing Chinese market: Chinese consumers are very fond of the ice desserts, ice pralines and special ice cream creations of Glacio. The unique combination of the quality products of Glacio on one side and the knowledge of the Chinese market and the presence of the Horsten team in China on the other side, offers a lot of benefits to make this project a success.” For more information, please check out the following link.

In addition, it was also announced that as of October 1st 2016, Tom Horsten, the third son of the late Joos Horsten, will join the Horsten International team in the office in Belgium. More information about Tom can be found here.
